September alone had 396 deaths and over 80,000 hospitalizations. According to the Directorate General of Health Services, 342 people died from the mosquito-borne sickness in August.

The health ministry recorded 14 fresh deaths on Saturday, including eight in Dhaka, the nation’s capital, with no signs of improvement in the deteriorating situation.

The total number of fatalities was 989, with 639 of them occurring in Dhaka. According to DGHS data, the number of dengue cases increased to 203,406, with 2,425 extra hospitalizations.
