Somali Magazine – H.E Ahmed Moalim Fiqi, Minister of Interior, Federal Affairs, and Reconciliation for the Federal Government of Somalia, today met with Awdal’s traditional elders and community leaders.
“Ethiopia has long intended to cross Somalia’s territory. They have always been after Zayla, but the Somali people have always protected their territory against such ambitions, and we will continue to do so,” the Minister stated.
During the conversation, numerous Awdal traditional elders and community leaders condemned Ethiopia’s intentions against Awdal, stressing that the Awdal people are willing to battle to safeguard their country.
Senator Deqa H. Hussein, chairman of the Upper House’s Internal Affairs Committee, and Senator Bilal Idris Abdullahi also spoke on Ethiopia’s evil intents.
H.E Ahmed Moallim Fiqi, Minister of Interior, Federal Affairs, and Reconciliation, noted that, as is customary in Somali culture, the Ministry plans to speak with our society’s traditional elders and community leaders when dealing with such situations.
