Libya’s foreign minister will go to Turkey on Wednesday.

Libyan Foreign Minister Najla al-Mangoush will visit Turkey on Wednesday for discussions, according to the Turkish Foreign Ministry.

Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and al-Mangoush will meet to discuss bilateral relations, according to a statement.

Current regional and global issues will also be discussed, according to the statement.

Turkey has long-standing ties with the Libyan people. Because of its historical and cultural links, Turkey places a premium on the security and well-being of the Libyan people.

Since the overthrow of longstanding dictator Muammar Gaddafi in 2011, Libya has been wracked by civil conflict and chaos.
