Manchester City captain Ilkay Gundogan led his club to FA Cup triumph in 2023 on Saturday.

Ilkay scored twice in the final against Manchester United, leading his club to a 2-1 victory at Wembley Stadium in London.

Gundogan scored the game’s opening goal in the 12th second with a screamer.

Ilkay grabbed the stage once more after Bruno Fernandes levelled the score in the 33rd minute with a penalty goal awarded by a Video Assistant Referee (VAR) ruling.

In the 51st minute, the German-born midfielder with Turkish origins capitalised on Kevin De Bruyne’s pass and scored again with a left-footed long shot.

With this triumph, the Citizens remained on course for a “Famous Treble” – winning the domestic title, domestic cup, and European cup all in the same season.

To win the triple, they will face Italian Serie A team Inter Milan in the 2023 UEFA Champions League final at Istanbul Ataturk Olympic Stadium on Saturday.

Man City won the Premier League title for the seventh time and the FA Cup for the first time in four seasons.
