    On a two-year contract, Steven Gerrard is appointed head coach of the Saudi Arabian team Al-Ettifaq.

    Al Ettifaq, a Saudi Pro League team, announced on Monday that Steven Gerrard has been hired as their new manager for a two-season term.

    “Al-Ettifaq Club has officially completed the contract with English coach Stephen Gerrard, according to which he will assume the position of coach of the first football team at Al-Ettifaq club until 2025,” the Saudi football team announced in a statement.

    The 43-year-old was the head coach of Glasgow Rangers and Aston Villa in the past.

    In Scotland, where he finished his three-year managerial tenure with Rangers, he won the Scottish Premiership in 2021 without suffering a defeat.

    Between 1998 and 2015, the Liverpool great made 710 appearances for the Reds, scoring 186 goals and dishing out 155 assists.

    He assisted Liverpool in winning the UEFA Cup in 2001 and the UEFA Champions League in 2005.

    In May 2021, Gerard was admitted into the Hall of Fame of the Premier League.
