H.E Hamza Abdi Barre, Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, presided over the first Cabinet Sub-Committee meeting on food security and nutrition, at which a comprehensive report on the current state of food and nutrition in the country was presented, along with relevant observations from international food security conferences in which Somalia participated beginning in 2021.
Speaking during the meeting, Prime Minister Barre emphasised the essential significance that his administration places on safeguarding Somali people’s food security and nutrition, which would eventually lead to the country’s self-sufficiency.
The Prime Minister also directed key food and nutrition officials to create sustainable food systems through environmentally friendly initiatives.
