Mogadishu (SOMALI MAGAZINE) – Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud met with the Somali Diaspora community living in Turkey on Monday during his state visit.

President Mohamud briefed the Somali community on the overall situation in the country and told the audience that the Federal Government of Somalia attaches great importance to economic development, bolstering security, youth employment, and promoting peace among the Somali people.

During the meeting, the President listened to the members of the Somali diaspora about the living situation in Turkey, particularly in immigration, business, and education. He promised that he would discuss the challenges facing the Somali community in Turkey with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan as diplomats from the two countries work together to promote fruitful cooperation between Somalia and Turkey.

The President also visited the Somali Embassy in Turkey, where he met with the staff and diplomats and asked them to represent the Somali people in the best light. He added that Somalia’s foreign policy should be centred on his administration’s motto, which is Somalia being at peace with itself and the world.
