Somali Magazine October 19,2023- Today, Prime Minister H.E. Hamza Abdi Barre greeted Joacim Waern, the new Swedish Ambassador to Somalia, in Mogadishu.During their encounter, they engaged in a constructive dialogue centered on our countries’ essential bilateral cooperation, highlighting the impressive Sweden-funded development programs in Somalia.
While welcoming Ambassador Waern to Somalia, Prime Minister Barre expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Kingdom of Sweden for its invaluable assistance to Somalia, and expressed hope that the Ambassador would ensure proper coordination of Swedish aid in accordance with the government’s priority areas, including the critical task of stabilizing the country’s recently liberated communities.
Amb. Waern, for his part, thanked the Prime Minister genuinely for the warm welcome and assured him of his government’s continuous support for Somali-led initiatives.
