    PSG, the French Ligue 1 leaders, defeated Olympique Marseille 3-0. The Classic

    Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) defeated Olympique Marseille 3-0 in Sunday’s Le Classique, with Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi each having a historic night at Marseille’s Orange Velodrome.

    Mbappe, of PSG, scored a brace in the 25th and 55th minutes to achieve 200 goals for his club.

    Mbappe, 24, has tied former PSG forward Edinson Cavani for the club’s all-time scoring record.

    Cavani, 36, was a regular for PSG from 2013 to 2020 and is now with Valencia in Spain.

    PSG’s Argentinian superstar Messi scored from close range after Mbappe’s devastating ball into the six-yard box in the first half in Marseille.

    Messi scored his 700th club goal in his career.

    Messi, 35, had 672 goals with Barcelona before joining PSG in 2021.

    For the Paris club, he has 28 goals.

    Leaders PSG has 60 points after 25 games. Olympique Marseille is eight points behind them in second place.
