    Sergio Ramos, a Spanish defender, has returned to his boyhood club Sevilla.

    Somali Magazine 5 September 2023- Sergio Ramos, the Spanish central defender, returned to his childhood club Sevilla on Monday after an 18-year absence.

    “Sevilla FC have reached an agreement for the signing of Sergio Ramos,” the Spanish La Liga club said in a statement.

    Ramos, a free agent from Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), passed his physical exam and signed a one-year contract with Sevilla.

    Ramos, 37, stated that he is “looking forward to wearing the Sevilla crest again, stepping out at Sanchez-Pizjuan (Sevilla’s stadium), and seeing you all again.”

    The seasoned defender went on to say that it was a “debt” due to himself and his family, and that he will give his all for Sevilla.

    Product from Sevilla Ramos appeared in 49 games before joining Real Madrid in 2005.

    Ramos was a regular for Real Madrid from 2005 to 2021, helping the club achieve five Spanish La Liga crowns, four UEFA Champions League wins, and three UEFA Super Cup medals.

    In 671 appearances for Real Madrid, he scored 101 goals.

    Ramos, one of the finest defenders of his time, helped PSG win the French Ligue 1 title back-to-back in 2022 and 2023.

    Ramos was a key member of Spain’s national team, helping them win the 2010 FIFA World Cup and back-to-back European (EURO) crowns in 2008 and 2012.

    Ramos, a former Real Madrid captain, has 180 international caps and has scored 23 goals for Spain.
