Somali Magazine 5 September 2023-Somali Ambassador to China Awale Kullane attended the opening of the Global Development Report 2023 in Beijing. The Centre for International Knowledge on Development (CIKD) hosted the event, which brought together international advisers, government officials, representatives from international organisations, and think tank specialists.
The Global Development Report is an effort that sprang out of the High-Level Dialogue on Global Development, with the goal of expressing Chinese viewpoints on global development concerns and policy recommendations. The concept of “global development at a historic crossroads” is explored in the 2023 report, which is divided into two sections, reviewing progress, problems, and trends in global development and investigating critical thematic concerns.
The attendance of Ambassador Kullane at the event demonstrates Somalia’s commitment to collaborations and obtaining insights into global development plans. He met with foreign advisers, government leaders, and specialists to share Somalia’s viewpoints and to explore prospects for partnership in pursuit of long-term development goals.
Dr. Changwen Zhao, CIKD’s Executive Vice-President, expressed thanks for Ambassador Kullane’s participation and emphasised the importance of Somalia’s presence and contribution to the global development conversation.
This paper shows Somalia’s active engagement in international events, as well as its commitment to tackling difficult issues via cooperation and shared knowledge.
