Djibouti (SOMALI MAGAZINE) Djibouti President Ismail Omar Guelleh invited the Somali President and his delegation to a banquet at the Presidential Palace in Djibouti on Saturday night.
According to a statement issued by Villa Somalia, President Guelleh presented his counterpart Mohamud with the highest Medal of Honor bestowed by the government of Djibouti in recognition of his contribution to strengthening bilateral ties between the two countries.
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud thanked the Djiboutian government and people for the Medal of Honor and the warm reception he received. He also stated that his visit was the start of stronger ties between Somalia and Djibouti.
During his visit to Djibouti, the President will deliver a speech in the Djibouti Parliament House on the situation in Somalia and the importance of the two countries’ bilateral relationship.
Mohamud has traveled abroad five times since being elected President on May 15.
