Kampala (SOMALI MAGAZINE) The Auditor General of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Avv. Ahmed Gutale, and a group he led attended the 20th Afrosaie Governing Board Meeting and 2024 Strategic Review in Kampala, Uganda (6th–9th May).

This year’s meeting subject is ‘VISION 2029’, and it focuses on digitalizing Statement of Additional Information (SAI) and increasing audit impact through stakeholder involvement.

The Office of the Auditor General (OAGS) signs a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Swedish National Audit Office.

The MoU was signed by the Auditor General of Somalia and the renowned Auditor General of the Swedish NAO, Helena Lindberg. This 5-year agreement specifies a shared understanding for building a collaboration framework to strengthen OAG Somalia in institutional capacity building.

The signing ceremony, held during the 20th Afrosaie Governing Board Meeting and 2024 Strategic Review in Kampala, Uganda, was attended by high-level officials from OAG Somalia and SAI Sweden, as well as representatives from INTOSAI Development Initiative and Afrosai.

This Memorandum of Understanding will create the framework for a comprehensive collaboration agreement that will outline critical areas of assistance for the OAGS, notably the newly established Performance Audit role.
