Somali Magazine 12, 2023-Sudan’s military leader, General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, has arrived in Asmara for an official meeting with Eritrea’s President, Isaias Afwerki.
The two presidents will address bilateral issues, the situation in Sudan, and things of mutual interest, according to an official statement, although no further specifics were provided.
Eritrea is Gen Burhan’s fourth country visit since Sudan slid into violence in April of this year, following trips to South Sudan, Egypt, and, most recently, Qatar.
On September 2, he ordered the reopening of Sudan’s border crossings with Eritrea, citing the benefits to trade and people movement between the two countries.
