Somali Magazine – Dr. Workneh Gebeyehu, Executive Secretary of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), has expressed grave worry over recent developments in relations between Ethiopia and Somalia, which have strained ties between the two neighboring countries.
Dr. Gebeyehu stated in a statement made from Djibouti on January 3, 2024, that IGAD was closely monitoring the situation and recognized the possible repercussions for regional stability. He asked IGAD leaders to take action and urged the two sisterly countries to work together to find a peaceful and amicable settlement while preserving the shared values that connect the IGAD family.
