Somali Magazine – On Tuesday afternoon, Somalia’s U-18 football team defeated Sudan 3-0 in the Council for East and Central African Football Associations (CECAFA) U18 competition in Kenya.

Despite the Ocean Stars’ outstanding effort over the course of 90 minutes, this was their first victory since the tournament began last week.

Idris Bilaal opened the scoring in the 27th minute, while Mahad Shiine doubled the lead in the 66th minute. Mohamed Omar scored the game’s third goal in the waning seconds of the 90th minute.

While Somalia’s national team was defeated in their first game against Rwanda, their second-game victory gave them optimism of progressing in the tournament.

Kenya, Somalia, Rwanda, Sudan and Uganda are among the regional football powerhouses represented in Group A.
