    NAIROBI, KENYA – February 20, 2025 – U.S. and Somali troops have commenced joint counterterrorism training exercises in Kenya as part of the multinational exercise Justified Accord 2025 (JA25). The training, hosted by Kenya and led by the U.S. Army Southern European Task Force, Africa (SETAF-AF), aims to enhance regional security and strengthen counterterrorism efforts.

    Training Details

    The exercise involves the 173rd Airborne Brigade from the U.S. Army and Somali Danab forces, a special operations unit within the Somali National Army. The training focuses on improving interoperability, crisis response capabilities, and combat readiness through high-intensity scenarios.

    Regional Collaboration
