According to Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, Kyiv will get a new $2.2 billion package of military aid from the US and anticipates that the US Congress will approve a second package totaling about $45 billion.
Shmyhal remarked on Telegram that the Patriot air defense systems and the new HIMARS systems are both included in the package.
He noted that the $45 billion plan was included in the US federal budget for 2023 and will consist of military, economic, and humanitarian aid.
