Mogadishu (Somali Magazine) – Following a meeting with Russian and Ukrainian delegations in Istanbul on Tuesday, U.N. assistance director Martin Griffiths expressed optimism for the continued progress of the Black Sea grains agreement.

After meetings where he heard the opinions of both parties on how to improve the export programme, he posted on Twitter, “I am optimistic we will continue to better our essential work, together.”

The meeting occurs a few days before the Nov. 19 renewal deadline.
