Somali Magazine Sep 23,2023-Barcelona head coach Xavi extended his contract with the defending Spanish champions until 2025 on Friday.
“FC Barcelona and coach Xavi Hernandez have reached an agreement for the extension of his contract until 20 June 2025, with the option of an additional year,” the club announced in a statement.
The former Barcelona midfielder stated that he is “happy and satisfied” to have his contract renewed and that he and his teammates will “work really hard to win everything this season and hopefully in the future.”
After leaving Qatar’s Al-Sadd, he joined Barcelona in 2021.
Xavi is a key figure for Barcelona, having played for the club for 24 years and winning 25 major trophies, including eight Spanish La Liga crowns and four UEFA Champions Leagues.
In addition, he assisted his country Spain in winning the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.
Xavi won the Spanish Super Cup as head coach when Barcelona defeated Real Madrid 3-1 in the final in January, as well as the Spanish La Liga title last season.
