Mogadishu, Somalia (Horn Observer) Somalia’s parliament on Thursday approved the national government budget of of $918.7 million, following three days of intense debate, officials said.

204 lawmakers voted in support of the budget with an increase of $247.7M compared to the previous budget 2021.
“After 3 days of intense debate in Parliament and weeks of discussions with the joint Houses of Parliaments Finance committee, the 2022 budget has been approved by lawmakers. We can now move on to the process of implementing the budget for the benefit of the people of Somalia”Dr Abdirahman Beileh, Somalia’s finance minister said on twitter.
The minister added that ” We can now move on to the process of implementing the budget for the benefit of the people of Somalia.”
