Russian bombardment on Wednesday resulted in the deaths of three persons in the Kherson area of southern Ukraine, according to the region’s governor on Thursday.
“Three persons were slain yesterday… 13 more Kherson region people sustained injuries of different seriousness. In particular, an eight-year-old youngster passed away, Yaroslav Yanushevych wrote in a Telegram message.
Yanushevych claimed that “artillery, MLRS (Multiple Launch Rocket Systems), tanks, mortars, and UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles)” fired the area 86 times, hitting both residential and apartment-style buildings.
He continued, “(Russia) targeted a shipbuilding facility, a school, warehouses, a newspaper publishing company, a school, a shop, and a Kherson Regional State Administration office.
The Russian side has not yet responded on the Ukrainian charges.
Following Russia’s withdrawal from the area, which President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the leaders of several Western nations hailed as a “significant victory,” the Ukrainian military entered Kherson last month.
