Russian airstrikes in the Kherson region of Ukraine on Wednesday resulted in at least 21 fatalities and 48 injuries.
“As of right today, 21 individuals have died! 48 injuries! civilians all! In a single unfinished day! in a single area! In a message sent on Telegram, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed his sympathies to the victims’ relatives and friends.
According to him, the targets of the attacks were a railroad crossing, a house, a hardware store, a grocery store, and a gas station.
“We will never pardon the offenders. We’ll overthrow the evil state and prosecute all of the offenders.
In a previous message on Telegram, Andriy Yermak, chief of the Ukrainian Presidential Office, indicated that at least 18 people had died and 46 had been hurt as a result of the ongoing strikes.
As of 4.30 p.m. local time (1330 GMT), according to the Ukrainian General Prosecutor’s Office, there were 12 fatalities and 22 injuries in the regional center.
The Kherson District Prosecutor’s Office provided procedural oversight, according to the statement, and “a pre-trial investigation was started on the fact of violation of the laws and customs of war, combined with intentional murder.”
