Arab Parliament Speaker Adel Al-Asoomi called on Arab countries to do more to help Sudan resolve its situation on Saturday.
“The Sudanese crisis must not be left to regional and international interventions,” Al-Asoomi stated during the Arab Parliament’s inaugural session in Cairo.
“Arabs must band together to find a Sudanese-Arab solution that avoids bloodshed, protects the country’s integrity, and preserves its national army,” he added.
Al-Asoomi also praised Arab nations’ humanitarian and political initiatives in Sudan.
Since April, the Sudanese army and the paramilitary organisation Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have been engaged in intense warfare in several regions across Sudan, including the capital, Khartoum, amid claims of initiating attacks that have killed hundreds.
