President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Saturday that Turkey wants to grow its exports to $265 billion by the end of 2023.
“Despite the negative global economic outlook, we want to increase our exports to $265 billion at the end of this year and $285 billion next year,” Erdogan stated in Ankara, speaking at the 30th Ordinary General Assembly of Turkish Exporters Assembly and Export Champions Award Ceremony.
“Today, if we have products labelled ‘Made in Türkiye’ even in the most remote parts of the world, it is our exporters who play the most significant role,” he remarked.
Erdogan also mentioned the bad economic effects of the twin earthquakes that struck southern Turkey on February 6.
“The adverse effects of the earthquake on our economy are diminishing day by day,” he remarked.
“Despite the century’s disaster, our exports continue to grow strongly.”
The president also stated that Turkey’s export aim for 2028 is “$400 billion and above.”
“Hopefully, by 2023, we’ll have 2 million health tourists and $3 billion in exports.”
