Cesc Fabregas, the former World Cup winner, announced his retirement from football on Saturday at the age of 36.

“It is with great sadness that the time has come for me to hang up my playing boots,” Fabregas wrote on Twitter.

“I will cherish every moment of my time at Barcelona, Arsenal, Barcelona again, Chelsea, Monaco, and Como.” From winning the World Cup and the Euros to winning everything in England and Spain and virtually all of Europe, it’s been a trip I’ll never forget,” concluded the Spanish central midfielder.

Fabregas, a Barcelona product, has represented England’s Arsenal and Chelsea, as well as Barcelona’s senior side.

After leaving Monaco, he last played for Italy’s Como.

Fabregas stated he had “great memories and friends” during his playing career, during which he mastered three languages.

“So, after 20 incredible years of sacrifice, dedication, and joy, it’s time to thank you and bid farewell to the beautiful game.” “I enjoyed every minute of it.”

Fabregas won the English Premier League twice, in 2015 and 2017, as well as the UEFA Europa League.

Before joining Chelsea, he helped Barcelona win the Spanish La Liga title in 2013.

He won the English FA Cup with Arsenal between 2004 and 2011.

Fabregas was instrumental in Spain winning the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa, as well as two European Championships (EURO) in 2008 and 2012.

He will begin coaching the B and youth teams of Italian Serie B club Como.
