Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan landed in the UAE on Tuesday for the final stage of a three-nation Gulf tour to improve regional ties.

President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan will greet Erdogan with a formal ceremony in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday.

The leaders are scheduled to meet one-on-one. Erdogan will also attend a state banquet in his honour later in the day.

All elements of bilateral ties will be examined during the meetings, and initiatives to improve cooperation in numerous areas, particularly the economy, will be considered.

Several agreements are also likely to be signed between Turkey and the UAE.

Erdogan began his three-nation Gulf tour with Saudi Arabia on Monday, followed by Qatar.

Erdogan stated during his visits to the three Gulf countries that he wants to strengthen ties and finalise economic accords.

Erdogan stated during a news conference in Istanbul before beginning his journey that Turkey’s relations with the UAE are improving in all areas, adding, “The UAE is the country with whom we recently trade the most in the Gulf region.” We want to raise this figure to a level that reflects our two countries’ genuine potential.”
