On Friday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that his country has acquired new military weapons from its partners.

“Partnership agreements are being executed. Heavy equipment, artillery, and air defence systems are on their way. We are still working on the future bundles. “News will be forthcoming,” Zelenskyy stated in a Telegram message after attending a morning briefing.

According to Zelenskyy, the briefing covered the present situation on the front lines with Russia, the Ukrainian military’s offensive and defensive efforts, and the employment of drones.

He also stated that the examination of military medical commissions and the activity of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) with reference to “military committees” and collaborators were discussed, with “good results.”

Late Thursday, Dutch Foreign Minister Wopke Hoekstra said on X that his Netherlands supported the US decision to allow Ukraine to purchase F-16 fighter fighters.

“We applaud Washington’s decision to clear the way for the deployment of #F16 fighter jets to Ukraine.” Many thanks to @SecBlinken for the excellent and timely collaboration. We will now continue to explore the issue with our European counterparts. This is a significant step forward in #Ukraine’s defence of its people and nation,” Hoekstra added.

Previously, Dmytro Kuleba of Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry stated that Ukrainian pilots presently undergoing F-16 training overseas will return to the nation with the fighter planes, and that the difficulty behind the provision of F-16s was technical rather than political.

Since Ukraine’s war with Russia began on February 24, last year, Western nations have continued to provide military and financial assistance. They have been hesitant to send fighter planes to Kyiv thus far.

Denmark and the Netherlands, on the other hand, are leading Western nations in training Ukrainian pilots on F-16 fighter planes.
