SOMALI MAGAZINE – The English Football Association stated that English Premier League teams spent more than a half billion dollars – £409.5 million ($509.8 million) – on football agents and intermediaries in the year ending in February.
The FA said on Thursday that Chelsea dominated expenditure on agency fees, paying a cool £75.1 million ($93.4 million).
According to Sky Sports, Chelsea paid a British record £115 million for Brighton’s Ecuadorian midfielder Moises Caicedo on an eight-year deal in August of last year. The charge might increase Chelsea’s agent fees throughout this time period.
Manchester City, the 2023 English champions, are claimed to have spent £60.6 million to rank second on the list.
Manchester City’s opponents Manchester United spent the third most money, totaling £34 million.
Liverpool (£31.5 million) and Arsenal (£24.7 million) trailed closely after.
Aston Villa (£21.1 million) was the other English club to pass the £20 million mark.
Tottenham Hotspur, one of England’s most prominent clubs, paid £19.7 million in agency fees.
Luton Town, who was promoted to the top tier of English football last May, spent the least of any Premier League team, at £2 million.
