On Wednesday, a Somali immigrant and US Army veteran pledged to “one vote at a time” remove Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) in the next midterm elections.
Congressional candidate Shukri Abdirahman tweeted, “Ilhan Omar will NOT be re-elected to Congress this year.” “I’m a ten-year combat veteran of the United States Army, and I’m going to take her place.”
Abdirahman stated she is “in the neighborhood everyday” and will win “one vote at a time” in response to another Twitter user who doubted her capacity to defeat Omar.
Abdirahman said she believes in a well-funded police force, safeguarding American borders, and upholding the American ideal that she discovered after fleeing an oppressive state in Somalia in a recent interview with Fox News.
“I’ll never forget, and I’ll never forget you.”
