On Sunday, Ukrainian presidential adviser Alexey Arestovych said Russia’s progress in Ukraine has been’stopped on all fronts.’

As clashes on the ground continue, Ukrainian soldiers are putting up a tougher struggle, Arestovych stated in a video message on social media.

He claimed that Russian military have “no authority” over the situation.

After inspections by Russia’s Federal Security Service, commanders have been accused of “cowardice and weakness of character,” putting Russian soldiers and officers under pressure. According to Arestovych,

The Ukrainian military claimed earlier on Sunday that it has inflicted greater losses on Russian forces in continuous engagements, with over 14,700 Russian servicemen dead in Ukraine so far.

According to the latest statement from the Ukrainian General Staff, Ukrainian forces have destroyed 96 Russian aircraft, 118 helicopters, 476 tanks, 1,487 armored carriers, 947 vehicles, 21 unmanned aerial vehicles, 60 fuel tankers, and three boats.

It further stated that at least 230 Russian artillery weapons, 74 multiple rocket launcher systems, and 44 air defense systems were destroyed.

However, neither side’s claims for casualties or damages have been independently verified.

Since Russia declared war on its western neighbor on February 24, at least 902 civilians have been killed and around 1,460 injured in Ukraine, according to UN assessments.

The UN has stated that the true figures are likely to be significantly higher because verification is difficult on the ground.

According to the UN refugee agency, the conflict has forced 10 million people to flee their homes.

According to UN figures, about 3.4 million people have fled Ukraine since the conflict began, with more than 2 million taken in by Poland, close to 530,000 by Romania, and more than 362,000 by Moldova.

In the country, an estimated 6.5 million people are internally displaced.
