According to the White House, US President Joe Biden will meet digitally with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday.
Jen Psaki, a spokeswoman for the White House, said the conversation aimed to “deepen relationships between our governments, economies, and people.”
The COVID-19 pandemic, the climate catastrophe, the global economy, the Indo-Pacific, and Russia’s war on Ukraine are among the topics the two leaders will discuss.
“The leaders will continue to discuss the building of an Indo-Pacific Economic Framework and the delivery of high-quality infrastructure,” Psaki said.
According to the statement, “President Biden will continue our close conversations on the effects of Russia’s barbaric assault against Ukraine and reducing its destabilizing impact on global food supply and commodity markets.”
The virtual meeting takes place as US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin prepare to welcome their Indian counterparts External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh to Washington for the fourth US-India 2+2 Ministerial Dialogue on Monday.
