GALKA’YO – Reports have emerged from Mudug region in central Somalia say that the Darawish forces who went on strike this morning have left the customs office in the south of Galkayo, the regional capital.
Galmudug’s information minister announced that the troops had succeeded in returning to their bases and vacating the Galkayo Customs.
He also promised, on behalf of the President of Galmudug Ahmed Abdi Kaire commonly known as Qoor Qoor, that the troops will have their rights respected and would receive their dues as soon as possible. The forces held the South Galkayo Customs for three days, after ousting the police force there.
This comes amid declining security in the Galmudug following the recent clashes between Galdmudug security forces and militia from Ahlu Sunnah Wal Jama’a.
