The Organizing Committee of the East Africa Somali Awards extends its deepest appreciation to our Chief Guest, Hon. Adan Barre Duale, Cabinet Secretary for the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kenya, distinguished diplomats, government officials, business leaders, and all esteemed guests who honored us with their presence at the recent awards ceremony held at Argyle Hotel.
Your attendance greatly elevated the stature of the occasion and reaffirmed the importance of recognizing and celebrating excellence within our community.
However, the Organizing Committee wishes to address an unfortunate incident that occurred during the event. We offer our sincere and unreserved apologies for the unacceptable conduct displayed by two individuals whose attire and behavior fell far below the standards and values of this Prestigious platform.
We wish to state clearly and unequivocally that both the Chief Guest, Hon. Adan Barre Duale, and all distinguished delegates present were not aware of, nor associated with, these individuals or their conduct in any capacity.
Further clarification confirms that these individuals were not directly invited by the Organizing Committee. They were guests brought in by one of the participating corporate entities. While this is the case, we take full responsibility for the overall environment of the event and deeply regret any discomfort, concern, or misunderstanding caused.
The Organizing Committee strongly condemns this misconduct in the harshest terms possible. Such actions do not reflect, represent, or align with the principles of professionalism, cultural values, and dignity that our platform upholds.
We firmly distance ourselves from this behavior and reiterate our zero-tolerance policy towards any conduct that undermines the integrity, respect, and decorum of our events.
In response, we are implementing stricter guest management protocols, enhanced vetting procedures, and reinforced dress code policies to ensure that such incidents are not repeated in the future.
The East Africa Somali Awards remains committed to delivering world-class, respectful, and culturally dignified events that truly reflect the excellence, unity, and values of our community.
