Elon Musk, the CEO of SpaceX and Twitter, stated that approximately 100 Starlink satellites offer internet access in Iran.

“Approaching 100 Starlinks active in Iran,” the 51-year-old business magnate tweeted on Monday in reaction to photographs of Iranian women walking outside with their hair uncovered, which is illegal in Iran.

Earlier, Musk said he would deploy Starlink satellites to allow demonstrators in Iran to connect, amid ongoing protests sparked by the death of a young lady in morality police detention for allegedly breaching the Islamic dress code.

Starlink, a satellite constellation owned by SpaceX, provides internet access to 45 nations via more than 3,300 mass-produced tiny satellites in low Earth orbit.

Protests raged for months in Iran following the death of Mahsa Amini in the custody of morality police in September.
