Somali Magazine -On Sunday, Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo, a former president of Somalia, was formally sworn in to serve a life term in the Lower House of the Somalian parliament.
Despite the fact that Farmaajo was not elected, the 1960 constitution’s article 64, paragraph 4, permits a former president to be allocated a seat as an MP in the Lower House of Parliament.
Currently serving as the 277th member of parliament, Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo.
Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo was welcomed to take the oath of office as a member of the parliament and pledged to work for the good of the nation, the people, and the faith.
After Farmaajo won the presidential election, Hassan Sheikh Mohamed was the first president to be sworn in as a life-term congressman in March 2017.
Between November 2010 and June 2011, Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed served as Somalia’s prime minister and as president of the country from 2017 to 2022.
