On Saturday, the Federal Electoral Implementation Team began presenting membership certificates to the first group of elected members of the Lower House.

Muse Gelle Yusuf, the chairman of the Federal Electoral Implementation Team, was handing out certificates to legislators in Mogadishu.
The first batch of elected Lower House MPs and Upper House Senators was released by the Federal Electoral Implementation Team on Thursday, with the results of four Lower House seats from the South West and Hirshabelle regional states being withheld.

Because four seats are from Hirshabelle and the South West regional states, they have rejected the FIET’s decision.

The chairman’s move to target constituencies was deemed illegal and in violation of electoral agreements and procedures by the South West State of Somalia.

“Because the commission has lost its mandate and independence, the SEIT leadership, in collaboration with members of the Federal Implementation Committee operating in the Southwest, will automatically transfer the files of Members of Parliament to the Secretaries of both Houses of Parliament,” according to a statement from the South West.

One of the seats that the chairman omitted from the announcement list is HOP086, which was won by president Farmaajo’s national security adviser Fahad Yasin. Hirshabelle in Beledweyne was elected to this seat.

The HOP086 seat went through all of the election procedures, according to the Hirshabelle regional state, and no complaints were received from the clan that held the seat or the candidates who ran for it.

Hirshabelle accused the commission’s chairman of violating the election’s agreements and procedures, claiming that the SEIT’s official list will be submitted to the secretaries of both Houses of the Federal Parliament.
