The national defense minister of Turkey announced on Monday that a conference of the defense secretaries and intelligence chiefs of Turkey, Russia, Syria, and Iran would take place in Moscow on Tuesday.
On December 28 of last year, the defense and intelligence ministers of Turkey, Russia, and Syria convened in Moscow and decided to continue their discussions, according to Hulusi Akar.
Later, opinions of Iran’s attendance at these meetings were discussed. The appropriate authorities gave their approval for this. We are preparing for a meeting that will include defense ministers and intelligence heads as a follow-up to that session, Akar said.
This summit will take place in Moscow on April 25. Our goal is to quickly restore peace and quiet to the area while resolving the issues through discussions.
Akar stated that after the sessions, various constructive initiatives are anticipated.
He continued by saying that Turkey is resolute in its fight against terrorism and that it wants to ensure that Syrians living there return to their country voluntarily, safely, and dignifiedly.
“Whether they are in Turkey or Syria, we are united with our Syrian brothers and sisters. We would never make a choice that will put them in danger, the Turkish defense minister declared.
