Kenyan security forces have successfully neutralized two Al-Shabaab militants in Mandera County during a pre-dawn operation, preventing a planned attack on civilian vehicles along the Alungu-Elwak road. Acting on credible intelligence, the elite Special Operations Group (SOG) launched the ambush, catching the insurgents in the act of planting improvised explosive devices (IEDs) on the busy highway.
