Somali Magazine According to The Wall Street Journal, the Pentagon wants President Biden to approve off on sending several hundred special operations forces to Somalia to assist block the spread of the al Qaeda-linked al Shabaab terrorist group.

Defense officers want Biden to overturn orders issued by then-President Trump in his final days in office, when he ordered the withdrawal of around 700 Army Green Berets, Navy SEALs, and Marine Raiders from sites in Somalia, according to administration officials.

The commandos were largely relocated to Djibouti and Kenya, where they had been training local soldiers to defend against al-Shabaab. According to the officials, the US military now wants the White House to send those forces back to Somalia.
