KIEV – According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, over 300 Somali people who were stranded in Ukraine have been successfully evacuated.
According to the Ministry, 348 Somalis who were stuck in Ukraine and near its borders, including some who were unable to leave due to a lack of documentation, have finally been granted safe departure.
A total of 65 Somali students studying in Ukraine have been put in universities in Hungary, according to the Ministry, with those who have not been placed but are interested in registering with the ministry.
The news comes as warfare has intensified, with Russia claiming to have shifted its emphasis to Kyiv, the Ukrainian capital.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has stated that he is willing to engage in discussions to settle the conflict, but that he will not surrender.his country’s territories.
