On Tuesday, the 2022–23 UEFA Champions League group stage matches will start, marking the start of the new season for teams on their way to Istanbul.
A total of 32 teams in eight groups will compete in the UEFA Champions League for a spot among the final 16 teams.
In the Champions League, the top two teams in each of the eight groups advance to the second round.
The third-place finishers in each group will continue their European campaign in the UEFA Europa League. As of the Round of 16, teams in the Champions League will attempt to reach the finals by winning the games that will be played using the two-match elimination method.
On June 10, 2023, the Ataturk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul will host the 2022–2023 Champions League season finale.
