President Irro to meet Kenyan leadership, engage international partners, and open new Somaliland Representative Office in Nairobi
Somaliland President Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi Irro traveled to Nairobi, Kenya, on Monday for an official multi-day visit aimed at strengthening the relationship between Somaliland and Kenya.
According to a statement from the Somaliland Presidency, President Irro is joined by a high-level team. His delegation includes key officials such as the Minister of the Presidency, Minister of Planning, Minister of Communications and Technology, the Director of the National Intelligence Service, and the Chief of Staff.
During his stay in Nairobi, President Irro is expected to meet with Kenyan President William Ruto and other top government leaders. Their discussions will focus on important issues that affect both nations, especially trade, security, and diplomatic cooperation. These talks are part of ongoing efforts to build stronger ties between Somaliland and Kenya.
“The President of the Republic of Somaliland and his delegation will meet with the Kenyan government led by President William Ruto to discuss issues important to Somaliland,” the official statement said.
Apart from government meetings, President Irro is also scheduled to meet with international organizations and foreign embassies based in Nairobi. These engagements highlight Somaliland’s aim to build stronger relationships beyond its borders and to push for wider international recognition.
A key part of the President’s visit will be the official opening of a new, modern building for the Somaliland Representative Office in Kenya.
