The Somali Business & Health Expo 2025, held in Mogadishu, delivered a profound showcase of Somali entrepreneurship, community wellness, and diaspora-driven innovation. Among its standout backers was Starsky Aviation, whose sponsorship underscored a deep commitment to Somali advancement beyond the realm of aviation.

“We are not just building businesses; we’re building legacies, families, and communities. Together, we rise.”

Over two days, the Expo hosted more than 120 exhibitors—ranging from Afya-tech firms and wellness startups to halal food producers and mental health organizations. The event brought together healthcare professionals, entrepreneurs, diplomats, and investors, creating genuine opportunity for collaboration.

Visitors accessed free health screenings, community consultations, and wellness talks that reframed healthcare as a communal right, not a privilege. The energy was electric: meaningful conversations turned into concrete partnerships, and hundreds of health assessments sparked follow-up care conversations that extended long beyond the Expo floor.

Starsky Aviation’s involvement helped amplify this impact. While often celebrated for supporting the Somali Tourism Expo in past years, this marks another significant example of their engagement in community-focused events. By aligning with an initiative emphasizing business growth and health, Starsky positioned itself not merely as an airline, but as a corporate citizen investing in Somali-led progress.

The sponsorship served as an emblem of pride and purpose—a statement that Somali excellence in business and wellness deserves a platform. Expo organizers set out to elevate regional entrepreneurship and healthcare innovation, goals they clearly exceeded. Exhibitors reported hundreds of leads and numerous memoranda of understanding forged on-site.

A spotlight panel on “Halal Healthcare Innovation,” moderated by Somali medical leaders, brought together biotech experts, Islamic scholars, and health technologists to explore how faith-based values intersect with emerging medical tech. It was a defining moment that showcased both cultural identity and forward-thinking progress.

The Expo’s community health initiatives were equally powerful. Over 500 free screenings for blood pressure, diabetes, and body mass index were conducted, many participants engaging in health conversations for the first time.

Sessions on maternal wellness, chronic disease prevention, and mental health drew standing-room crowds. These offerings went beyond awareness—they supplied practical guidance and next-step resources for local communities.

Behind the scenes, logistics, speakers, and media partners worked tirelessly to ensure reach and resonance. Starsky’s support complemented that of ministries, financial institutions, and Somali-led media platforms, collectively signaling powerful ecosystem alignment.

The result: a thriving network of entrepreneurs and community organizations mobilizing toward shared goals. Sponsors’ belief in this vision turned the Expo into a regional milestone with global reach.

Somali Magazine celebrated the Expo as transformative—not just an event, but a movement. Attendee engagement in health screenings, business workshops, and exhibitor showcases affirmed that Somali-led models can shape inclusive progress. The collective momentum and shared optimism suggest that Expo 2025 will be remembered as the summer when Somali innovation and wellness took center stage in East Africa.
