Somali technology company Tabaarak ICT held a community support event in Mogadishu on Sunday, where 100 girls from orphaned and low-income families received Eid clothing and gifts ahead of the upcoming holiday. The initiative was organized to help the children celebrate Eid with joy and dignity while easing the burden on families who may struggle to afford holiday preparations.
The event is part of the company’s annual Ramadan program called “Farxadda Afurka,” which focuses on supporting vulnerable members of society during the holy month. Through this initiative, Tabaarak ICT aims to promote compassion, unity, and social responsibility within the community.
During the event, the girls were given new Eid outfits along with small gifts and other essential items. The organizers said the goal was to ensure the children could take part in the Eid celebrations like other children, without feeling left out because of financial difficulties.
Representatives from Tabaarak ICT said the program reflects the company’s belief that businesses have a role to play beyond providing services. They emphasized that supporting the community, especially during Ramadan, is an important part of their mission.
Mohamed Tawane, Head of the Business Division at Tabaarak ICT, spoke at the event and highlighted the importance of helping children who face difficult circumstances. He said that supporting orphans and families with limited resources is a step toward building a stronger and more inclusive society.
According to Tawane, initiatives like this are meant to show that businesses can use their resources to create positive change in the communities where they operate. He added that Ramadan is a time that encourages generosity, compassion, and helping those in need.
The event was attended by several families whose children benefited from the program. Parents expressed appreciation for the support, saying it brought happiness to their children and relief to families who often struggle with the cost of preparing for Eid.
Haboon Abdullahi, one of the parents present, said the program made a big difference for many families. She explained that while Eid is a time of celebration, it can also be stressful for parents who cannot afford new clothes and gifts for their children.
She said that receiving the clothing and gifts not only helped her child but also brought joy to many other children who participated in the event. According to her, such initiatives give children the chance to feel included and celebrate the holiday with confidence and happiness.
Community members noted that programs like this strengthen the spirit of togetherness that Ramadan represents. They said acts of kindness, especially toward children and vulnerable families, help create a more supportive and caring society.
Tabaarak ICT is known for providing technological solutions and digital services in Somalia. In recent years, the company has expanded its activities beyond the technology sector by taking part in social responsibility initiatives that focus on education, innovation, and youth empowerment.
The company has organized several programs aimed at supporting young people and encouraging innovation in the country. By combining its technological expertise with community outreach, Tabaarak ICT hopes to contribute to both social and economic development.
Organizers of the Eid support event said they plan to continue running similar initiatives in the future. They believe that even small acts of support can make a meaningful impact on families and help strengthen community bonds.
The event ended with smiles and celebrations as the children received their clothing and gifts. For many of the families involved, the gesture served as a reminder that acts of generosity during Ramadan can bring people together and make the holiday more meaningful for everyone.
