In the midst of continuing peace negotiations with Russia, Ukraine’s president reaffirmed the significance of the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity late Wednesday.

In a video statement broadcast by Ukraine’s Presidency, Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated, “My goals in the discussions are completely clear: the end of the conflict, security guarantees, sovereignty, restoration of territorial integrity, genuine guarantees for our nation, real protection for our country.”

In order to live, Zelenskyy also urged Russian soldiers to put down their guns.

“Place your weapons on the table. “It’s better than dying on our land, in the battlefield,” he remarked.

“The Russian economy is still able to support their military machine,” Zelenskyy stated, emphasizing that Russia continues to perpetrate war crimes in Ukraine.

“The world must finally acknowledge that Russia has devolved into a terrorist state,” he declared.

He asked the international community to implement further sanctions against Russia and to increase support for Ukraine in order to end Russia’s occupation.
