BELEDWEYNE – As Hir-Shabelle state works to fill the remaining 10 seats, delegates in Beletweyne will pick two additional MPs today.

The delegates will vote for seats 19 and 59, which are expected to be competitive.

Farhiya Mumin Ali and Samira Hassan Abdulle, two female candidates, have already dropped out of the campaign.
Seat 19 was formerly reserved for women only, however it has since been accessible to both men and women.
After the election for the two seats is completed today, Beletweyne will have one seat to fill until the election for all 25 seats is completed.

The final seat will be held by Amina Mohamed, who was killed in a suicide bomb assault on March 23 alongside close to a hundred other people.

Once the Beletweyne contest is over, HirShabelle will now remain with seven seats to be filled in the capital Jowhar.
