On Saturday, Turkey’s foreign minister spoke by phone with Sudan’s acting foreign minister about the ongoing situation in the North African country.
According to the Turkish Foreign Ministry, Mevlut Cavusoglu and Sudan’s Ali al-Sadiq discussed the evacuation of Turkish people from Sudan, where the army has been fighting a paramilitary organization for many days.
According to UN data, fighting between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) has lasted more than a week, with more than 300 civilians killed and over 200 more injured.
Cavusoglu also spoke with representatives from three other countries, including Iran’s Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, Albania’s Olta Xhacka, and Hungary’s Peter Szijjarto.
