On Thursday, a cargo of potential Ebola vaccines will be sent to the health minister of Uganda for use in a clinical trial.

Since the country identified an epidemic of the Sudan strain of Ebola in September, 142 cases and 56 deaths have been confirmed.

Emmanuel Ainebyoona, a spokesman for the health ministry, stated in a tweet that the shipment will be received from WHO personnel in a warehouse close to Kampala, the country’s capital.

The start date of trials is anticipated to be revealed by the health minister, according to the AFP news agency.

Since more than three weeks, no new positive Ebola cases have been reported in Uganda, suggesting that the outbreak may be in check.
