A high-level delegation led by Minnesota State Representative Hodan Hassan (DFL-Minneapolis) arrived in Mogadishu.
The delegation’s major goal is to see the milestones and accomplishments reached by the country in recent years.
When the visiting party arrived at Aden Abdulle International Airport, they were greeted cordially by members of parliament from both Houses, ministries, and members of the public.
“My delegation and I have come to see the progress Somalia has made in recent years and to consider how we can help, whether through dialogue, ideas, or advice.” “We are genuinely proud of the country’s recent achievements,” Hodan remarked.
Speaking to the media at the airport, the Minnesota Representative congratulated the Somali Federal Government and people on recent advances and accomplishments.
She cited debt relief, Somalia’s admittance to the East African Community, the removal of the arms embargo, and continued counter-terrorism measures to eliminate Al-Shabab from the country as highlights.
During her visit, Hodan is set to meet with senior government officials and other high-profile personalities in an effort to strengthen bilateral cooperation on legislation and governance.
